Colon Hydrotherapy/Colonic

Colon Hydrotherapy, what is it?

Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as Large Intestine Cleansing, is an open system that uses pure water to cleanse chemicals, toxins, and accumulated waste in the large intestine and help them be expelled. It involves using purified warm water at a temperature of 37.5-38.5 degrees Celsius, which is the same temperature as the body. The water is slowly released into the lower intestine through a small-sized hose, stimulating bowel movement to facilitate the natural elimination process, similar to regular bowel movements.

How does Colon Hydrotherapy improve your health?

Colon Hydrotherapy differs from regular enemas as it is a gentle, clean, and safe method using medical-grade RO (Reverse Osmosis) water, similar to the water used for kidney dialysis in hospitals in the United States. It helps cleanse chemicals, toxins, and accumulated waste from the large intestine without using any chemicals, making your body ready to function in balance again.

A healthy large intestine leads to good health.

Even if you have a well-functioning regular bowel movement, there may still be waste and toxins accumulated deep within the colon, which regular daily bowel movements cannot eliminate entirely. Colon Hydrotherapy helps cleanse the accumulated waste and toxins in the large intestine, promoting a clean and balanced environment.

Who is suitable for Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon Hydrotherapy is suitable for individuals experiencing constipation, irregular bowel movements, or difficulty passing stool. It also benefits those with skin issues, acne, or dark spots, as well as individuals facing sleep problems, fatigue, body odor, or bad breath. Even individuals with regular bowel movements can benefit from Colon Hydrotherapy to remove long-standing waste and toxins from the deep parts of the large intestine.

What is the difference between enema and Colon Hydrotherapy?

The regular enema is typically done using chemical solutions to stimulate bowel movement or prepare the intestines for surgery. On the other hand, Colon Hydrotherapy is a gentle, safe, and effective method that uses purified water to carry away various types of waste and toxins accumulated in the large intestine without the use of any chemicals.

How is Colon Hydrotherapy performed?

Colon Hydrotherapy is a comfortable and memorable experience for most people. During a session (45 minutes), purified water at body temperature (approximately 36.5 degrees Celsius) is gently introduced into the body through a soft tube inserted into the rectum. This process stimulates the natural feeling of needing to have a bowel movement. The flow of water and elimination of waste from the body occur continuously during the session, enhancing the digestive and elimination processes of the large intestine, making them more efficient.

What should you do during a Colon Hydrotherapy session?

Before undergoing the treatment, you will meet with a doctor to discuss and evaluate your overall health and readiness. After 15 minutes of the treatment, a nurse will check your general health and vital signs. Throughout the treatment, which lasts for one session (approximately 45 minutes), a well-trained Hydro Therapist will attend to you in a private and comfortable treatment room.

The Hydro Therapist will adjust the water temperature and flow to ensure maximum comfort for you. They will also be there to monitor your condition and perform abdominal massages to further stimulate waste elimination. The specialized treatment bed is designed for the insertion and treatment of the hose comfortably and conveniently.

After the treatment, the staff will serve you a refreshing drink to replenish your energy, and they will provide good bacteria capsules to restore beneficial bacteria to the intestines, as both good and bad bacteria will be washed away during the treatment. We aim to make the 45-minute session with us a peaceful, comfortable, and rejuvenating experience for you.

Hygienic and Safe Standards

The equipment used at HydroHealth, including the bed and single-use insertion tube, ensures hygiene and safety. The water used goes through a purification process with five steps using the RO (Reverse Osmosis) system, imported from the USA, meeting the standards of USP23 and AAMI, which provides the highest level of purity comparable to the water used in hospital dialysis.

How often should you do Colon Hydrotherapy?

You can do Colon Hydrotherapy as part of your regular health regimen, similar to going for a health course. For those who have never undergone the treatment, it is recommended to have two sessions per week for four to five weeks. For individuals who do the treatment regularly, the frequency depends on personal preferences and dietary habits. Some may do it once a week, while others may do it once a month or once a year.

The RO Water Purification System

HydroHealth uses purified water that has gone through a five-step purification process with the RO (Reverse Osmosis) system, which provides the highest level of purity. The water used meets the medical-grade standard and is imported from the USA.

HydroHealth is the first Colon Hydrotherapy center in Thailand and one of the few in the world to use the high-grade RO water purification system for treatment.

Signature Detox Program

Most people think of colon hydrotherapy or colonic irrigation as a nightmarish experience. It is far from this. In fact, it is a very quick and efficient way to loosen impacted feces and wash away toxins. It also obviates many of the unpleasant symptoms of detoxification. Here’s what happens:

Colon Hydrotherapy is a comfortable experience for most people. The procedure involves a soothing flow of purified, temperature-regulated water, inserted gently into the colon through a thin rectal tube, stimulating the colon’s natural peristaltic action to release softened waste.

The inflow of a small amount of water and the release of waste may occur several times during a session. The removal of waste encourages better colon function and excretion.

The Procedure?

Before each treatment, center’s consultant will makes arrangement for each client to meet with resident doctor, who are able to provide the relevant information and answer any health-related questions or concerns. Resident doctor also conducts a thorough physical examination and take blood pressure measurements in order to ensure that each client is physically able to undergo treatments.

During your session at HydroHealth, a certified and experienced colon hydrotherapist will assist you in the comfort of a private room. The therapist will adjust the temperature and regulate the flow of purified water into your colon to ensure a comfortable excretion of waste.

The specially designed bed allows you to easily insert a lubricated thin rectal tube by yourself. You will be checked frequently by the therapist throughout the session, who will also gently massage your lower abdomen to aid the release of waste

At the end of the procedure, Bifidus (friendly bacteria) or Acidophilus will be given orally or through rectal infusion to maintain the balance of healthy elements in your body. The whole session lasts approximately 40 minutes. Our therapists aim to make your session relaxing, private and dignified.

Purification of cleansing water

The water used for the therapy undergoes as much as five purification processes. This purified water is also known as RO water and is processed through imported U.S. Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant, which produces kidney dialysis grade water of the purest quality. And as a result, clients can be relieved of any worries about the quality of the water used for a detoxification session – the water is 100% pure and natural.

How Long Does It Take to Clean the Colon?

It is unlikely that you will have a cleansed colon within a couple of weeks: it could take months. You will know when things are happening: your skin and eyes will look clearer, your digestion will improve, you will have more energy, and nagging aches and pains that have been around for years will disappear. You could feel mentally better too, clear-headed, and less jumpy.

Conditions such as active infections, active inflammation (such as diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis), a painful fissure or painful haemorrhoids mean treatment cannot be comfortably carried out until they are healed or in remission.

Diseases such as congestive heart disease, severe uncontrolled hypertension, severe anaemia, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, severe haemorrhaging and colo-rectal carcinoma are also absolute contra-indications for treatment as are some physical conditions such as severe abdominal or inguinal hernias which cannot be easily reduced.

Treatments are also not performed during the first three months of pregnancy, and not at all during complicated pregnancies.

Colonic irrigation, coupled with other suitable measures, is also useful during:
  • Cleansing regimes
  • Fasting
  • Liver/gall flushes
  • Weight loss program
